This guide is for students who are taking joint courses of Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia.
The guide provides information on how to use services and resources provided by all three libraries.
For example, you will learn about using printed and e-resources.
Libraries in universities of applied sciences are open for everyone, so you don't have to be their student to get a library card. Each library has their own customer register. Your information has to be added to all those libraries’ customer register where you wish to borrow books from. This can be done by visiting the library's customer service desk. Please bring an ID with photo (driving licence, passport, identity card).
Each library has their own library card, but it is possible to use the same card in partner libraries. If you want your own UAS library card to be activated for use in other partner libraries, please show the card when registering as a customer.
Books travel between the campus libraries of each UAS. You can request books from different campuses and return books to any campus library within each UAS. Please return Haaga-Helia's books to Haaga-Helia library, Laurea's books to Laurea library and Metropolia's books to Metropolia library.
If the book you're interested in is not available in any library in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, you can ask your library to request it for you as an inter-library loan. This can sometimes involve a fee. Please check this with your own library.
New students can find information on library services either from a user guide (Haaga-Helia and Metropolia) or from library website (Laurea). You can also learn more about Haaga-Helia library by watching video instructions.
